Heidelberg spots on dynamic simulation from 24th to 26th September 2018

The Final Concerence of the Collaborative Research Center (SFB) 716 with the title "Particle Simulations in Natural Science and Engineering" takes place from 24th to 26th September 2018 at the Heidelberg Congress Hall. It is the final highlight of the SFB 716 "Dynamic Simulation of Systems with large particle numbers". Since 2007 it is funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) and it cooperates closely with the excellence cluster SimTech of the University of Stuttgart.

The results of the SFB 716's research are presented on three Conference days. The talk of the speaker, Prof. Christian Holm (ICP), is on Monday, 24th September 2018, at 14:00 pm. The results of the interdisciplinary research of the SFB's subprojects is presented by the talks of the subproject team leaders. The program is completed by the talks of eight international external speakers, which are experts of dynamic simulation, on the three Conference days. The poster session of the SFB's PhD students takes place on 24th September 2018 at 19:00 pm.

A highlight of the Conference is the presentation of the astrodome movie of the exhibition "In the digital laboratory", which is shown at the House of Astronomy on Thursday, 25th September 2018, at 19:00 pm. In the planetarium Heidelberg numberous simulations are presented, e.g. to see how a DNS molecule runs in a nanopore or how laser ablates the surface of an aluminium block. The Conference dinner follows at 19:30 pm.

Organisation: Head: Prof. Dr. Christian Holm, Team: Jun.-Prof. Dr. Maria Fyta, Jun.-Prof. Dr. Niels Hansen, Prof. Dr. Dirk Pflüger, Dr. Guido Reina, Corinna Schwob M.A., Petra Enderle M.A.
